More immigrants without criminal histories have been removed from the United States by the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (“ICE”) as compared to prior administrations. TRAC statistics demonstrate that removal of immigrants with serious criminal histories is actually on the decline since 2017.
“TRAC is a nonpartisan, nonprofit data research center affiliated with the Newhouse School of Public Communications and the Whitman School of Management, both at Syracuse University. ” If you would like to review these statistics, they can be found here: LINK
So what does this mean? TRAC statistics indicate that immigrants with criminal histories are not priorities for enforcement. Instead, all immigrants are the priority. This policy is not new. However, statistical reflection is shocking.
